A conflict between two brothers, a tangled triangle of relationships, the panorama of a town in searchlights: in Ulrike Syha's play the three main characters are not only standing at the abyss of their existence, unsure if they should jump - but familiar surroundings seem more and more strange as well. Nick once was a nature photographer, but meanwhile has switched to politics. But to deal with people in humanitarian hot spots is more of a challenge to him than he expected. In a fateful night in Damascus he first loses his camera, then the ground beneath his feet. Leah, his wife, whom he left alone back home is oblivious to all this. She feels excluded from her husband's life. Who is this person, she starts asking herself: did I ever really know him? Or is he involved in things I better know nothing about? Theo, Nick’s brother, a worn out everyday Joe becomes an involuntary witness to Leah’s misgivings. He decides to exploit the rift between the two for his own benefit. But then his own imagination runs amok and the spirits he conjured up take on a life of their own. In the end a completely different specter awaits him, which makes all the others appear harmless: reality.
