Laura de Weck

Laura de Weck was born in 1981 and grew up in Paris, Hamburg, and Zurich. After graduating from high school, she studied acting at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Zurich. In 2005, Laura de Weck was invited to the dramatists’ workshop (Dramatikerwerkstatt) at the Bundesakademie für kulturelle Bildung (Federal Academy for Cultural Studies) in Wolfenbüttel, as well as to the dramatists’ workshop at the Internationale Schillertage in Mannheim. Her play Lieblingsmenschen (Favorite People) has been published in paperback at Diogenes, and reprinted in the journal Theater heute. It has been staged many times throughout the German-speaking world and beyond. It has been translated into English, Russian, Spanish, and Italian.
