When Bonnie and Clyde meet, it’s like an explosion. They met on a Friday at 3pm and by 3.07 pm they are already inseparable. Practically nothing good ever happened to them before, but this is their time now: the two of them against the rest of the world. Tarantino was yesterday, Bonnie and Clyde rock today. They are young. They are in love. They are different. They rob banks. That’s the plan. What their screen heroes can do, they can do better. Fuck youth unemployment, fuck dysfunctional family relationships. No more frustrations. Get out of social housing and into life! But if you put yourself in the line of fire, you are bound to catch a bullet every now and then. And in real life, the bullets are real. Inspired by the story of the legendary gangster couple Bonnie and Clyde, Holger Schober has written a B-movie for the stage that is set in the here and now. It’s about youth unemployment, disorientation, social neglect, violence and true love.
