variable casting, min. 14 actors

The meeting point of the play, where it all comes together, is the Hotel Confidence with its lobby and its Restaurant, the "Pancomedia". The "fool", small time publisher Zacharias Werner, is trying with varying success to stand up against the pressure of a major publisher. His "wife" is author Sylvia Kessel, whose second novel he wants to publish. He meets with several potential patrons of the arts, a certain brother in law Oswald, who likes to pass his time pelting his lover with pebbles, and the wealthy Ina Schmoeling-Knecht, who lures the publisher into her bed, but then still won't part with the money.

Relationships are played out, deals made, projects drafted and abandoned. The establishment, members and onlookers of the cultural scene are trying to drown out their existential crisis, desires and disappointments.

World premiere
07.04.2001 Schauspielhaus Bochum (Director: Matthias Hartmann)
