for ages 6 +

The children Gerda and Kay live with their grandmother in the icy reaches of a cold northern country. One day, Kay disappears, bewitched and abducted by the Snow Queen. His task is to search her palace for the last fragment of her magic mirror with which she intends to cast a shroud of eternal cold over the world. Ignoring the warnings of her grandmother, Gerda embarks on a dangerous journey northward to find her brother. A series of spectacular adventures ensues, during which, helped by the clumsily awkward reindeer Fritjof, she wins out against the sleepy tree spirits and rescues Blonk, a little bark troll. The three confront the Icicle Soldiers and finally reach the Snow Queen’s palace. But meanwhile, Kay has already found the last piece of the mirror. Can the children stop the evil queen before it’s too late?
