The writers Michel Decar and Jakob Nolte were both born in the late 1980s, and both grew up in small towns in West Germany, graduated from high school and performed on stage in nearby municipal and state theatres. Subsequently, they moved to Munich and Berlin, where they staged pieces of their own writing on small stages or worked as assistant directors. Later, they were invited by the Universität der Künste in Berlin to study scenic writing. During the 2012/2013 season, Nolte Decar attended the Werkstatttage (Workshop Days) of the Burgtheater in Vienna.
