Vera Kissel
Vera Kissel (born in 1959 in Heppenheim) grew up in the Ruhr area, studied Journalism at the University of Dortmund and worked as an editor for various newspapers. In 1998, her collection of poetry Vogelkind was published and her first play Mondkind won the important Most Promising Playwright Award at the Heidelberg Play Market. Vera Kissel was writer in residence at the National Theatre Mannheim for the season 2001/02. Her monologue Die Anruferin was turned into a movie and presented at the Munich Film Festival in 2007.
