Four people, Nina, Jill, Fred and Sven, are connected via a fine mesh of failed relationships. They are no longer young, yet not old enough for a mid-life crisis. The Romeos and Juliets of the 20th century have grown up and have learnt to love in the age of separate estates – it’s better to ensure one’s own existence than risk everything on one person. Torn between the ideal of autonomy and the desire for a relationship, they all arrive one night at a station. No one encounters the other; they all miss each other by minutes. In the dead time after the last train and before the first, each one reflects on recent events – an incomplete circle of modern love stories.
