(beach house)

The twins Ronny and Taylor celebrate their birthday - at the funfair, between the ‘Power Tower’ and ‘Breakdancer’ rides. A few carefree hours for the two of them, like every year. And then Ronny draws the main prize at one of the lottery booths: a trip to Florida, two weeks in the ‘beach house’, right on the sea. White sand, blue ocean - sounds like paradise. The dream of a better life suddenly seems within reach: once they manage to leave their housing estate and their low-level jobs behind, they will simply stay where the sun always shines. And there is even room for their sick mother. Nothing holds them here anymore; the future is bright. Good luck seems to have hit them - until they find out what conditions are tied to the winning ticket. Unwilling to give up their hopes, they agree to dangerous deals, triggering a relentless spiral of violence and dependence.
In beach house, Dorian Brunz juxtaposes the place where the dream of a carefree future comes true with a brutal, deceptive reality. To fight this reality, the siblings must sacrifice everything - and this almost includes their belief in a possible way out.
World premiere
