The Ladies Are Waiting

Four women in their early 50ties receive an invitation for a free day of wellness and find themselves in a wellness spa, where a hair and make up artist spells out the horrors of their womanhood, from anorexia to menopause. They may have very different life plans: Ms. Luhmann (single mother, employee), Ms. Gray (pathologist and single, no children out of conviction), Mrs. Merz-Dulschmann (housewife and mother) as well as Ms. Töss (lawyer and permanent girlfriend) – but they still share a common set of problems: the supposed disappearance of sexual attraction, or outright social rejection, being judged only by their looks, regardless of their intelligence; the unspoken decree of male judgments and norms. But a sinister plan is hidden behind all the focus on the body, the cosmetics, fashion and hair care. The women realize this just in the knick of time and begin to plan their counterattack.
