Die Optimisten
3F / 4M
A mixed ragbag of German holidaymakers gets stranded in Nepalese Lumbini. Conflicts caused by differences of opinion, competition and generation break out, but soon they have to focus on other problems – the hotel staff suddenly disappear and along with them, all food provisions. Next, a political economist travelling with the group is found dead in his room, the bus driver goes missing and a crate of weapons turns up. Roughly jerked out of cushy western European life, the travellers are faced with raw social reality and political developments that brutally fight back and, far away from home, mercilessly show them how alien they are – even to themselves.
