Liebeslügen oder Treue ist auch keine Lösung
3F
Julia, Nathalie and Birgit have been best friends for years. While they don’t meet up in trendy bars as often as they used to, they still share all their most intimate secrets. Julia’s sex life is non-existent, while the daily trudge of married life, kids and work mean she’s permanently exhausted. After three miscarriages and four courses of IVF treatment, Birgit has given up her dreams of having children. Nathalie is desperate to avoid being left on the shelf, as she still hasn’t found the right man. When she reveals that she is having an affair with a married father, a heated discussion ensues. Should anyone have to choose at some point between sex and love, adventure and security? Are permanent relationships possible without the odd affair here and there? Is being faithful a moral absolute, even if it leads to divorce? Or should you dump your ideals rather than your partner? Meanwhile, only the audience knows that Julia, Nathalie and Birgit are, in different ways, speaking from experience. Yet the extent to which they are personally involved in the issues at hand is slowly revealed, piece by piece...
With Lies of Love or Fidelity is Not the Answer, Ildikó von Kürthy has written a down-to-earth, warm-hearted and delightfully amoral comedy which reminds us that we shouldn’t forget the lighter sides of serious issues.
World premiere
