Planet Magnon

The year is 48 A.A.S. It’s almost 50 years since a piece of computer software, Actual Sanity, took charge of a community spanning six habitable planets. All decisions are based on perfect statistical models and made for the benefit of all. The result is peace, fairness and prosperity for all. Instead of forming ethnic or national groups, humans have come together in communes that seek to perfect its members in a variety of ways. But this post-democratic paradise is in danger. Members of the Broken Heart Collective (known as Hanks) want to restore suffering to its rightful place. The interplanetary community is shaken by a series of strange attacks, while the underground collective’s membership seems to be swelling rapidly. Two young leaders of the Dolphin Collective, Marten Eliot and Emma Glendale, journey from planet to planet to recruit new members, and get dangerously close to the Hanks along the way…

«This isn’t merely a cleverly constructed sci-fi story; Leif Randt has also created an insightful novel of ideas that investigates the value of human failings.» (Zeit Online)
