Rex Osterwald
(Rex Osterwald)
1 T-Rex
It is unfair and hurtful that the press invariably calls Rex Osterwald ‘T-Rex’. It’s ‘fake news’. Even if Rex definitely is a T-Rex. Still: now, in the middle of his campaign to become chancellor, people should be left to form their own opinion! Especially since all Rex wants to do is make Germany great again. Leave behind a stuffy past, lead the country to a new, common awakening, put an end to the establishment and to being patronised by Brussels, put an end to Antifa rabble and eco-gloomsters, to foreign infiltration and criminal clans. ‘Let us wage war on this outrageous reality,’ says Rex Osterwald; he wants to reconcile and unite and let people have fun, because: ‘If everybody loved Germany, we wouldn’t have any problems.’
Michel Decar’s subversive monologue exposes a populist politician who wears his colours openly and whose ‘feel-good programme’ is destined to lead to a distressing bloodbath.
World premiere
(«Zoom-Produktion») 27.04.2021 Residenztheater München (Director: David Moser)
