[Yours Sincerely, Pandora]

The age of men is nearing its end. Singer and megastar Joanne is pregnant. By Eve, a geneticist. Her baby will be the first in history with two biological mothers. For Eve, this breakthrough heralds a new world without testosterone, wars, exploitation or oppression. Although this play begins like a feminist political thriller, its trajectory alters as more perspectives emerge from Eve’s dream of a female future. Eve’s righteous fury stands in contrast to her daughter’s anger, which springs from a different source. It is met by the misgivings of trans woman Salome and confronted by the radical intentions of the timeless (and ageless) character of Baubo. And yes, Joanne wants children with Eve, but has no plans to exterminate half the human race...

Representing a range of vantage points, Laura Naumann’s play involves the perspectives of five women with different characters, biographies, ages and bodies. Nightmares, utopias, intimate conversations and enraged roars: here, all have the same validity. Angry and hopeful, belligerent and tender, Yours Sincerely, Pandora is a femmage, a manifesto and a searing indictment. Yet it is also a search for a way to make society fairer.
