Alexander Eisenach was born in Berlin in 1984. He studied Theatre and German Studies in Leipzig and Paris. He was assistant director at the Centraltheater in Leipzig and was a member of the directors' studio for newcomers at the Schauspiel theatre in Frankfurt in 2013/14. Since 2014 he has worked as a freelance director, including work at the Schauspiel theatre in Hanover, the Schauspiel theatre in Graz, at Düsseldorf's Schauspielhaus and the Deutsches Theater in Berlin. His first play, The Life of Joyless Pleasure, debuted at the Schauspiel theatre in Frankfurt in 2014.
