Puss in Boots - Based on the Brothers Grimm
(Der gestiefelte Kater)

Once upon a time, there was: a princess, who is bored of always having to be princess. A King, who understands nothing and commands a lot. A servant, who never finds the time to dream. A magician, who perceives himself as so dangerous, that he can’t see the danger anymore. Someone named Hans (Jack), who wants to be nothing more than a miller, but is turned into a Count; and – a talking cat. Plus a few musicians, who insist on playing on, although they have been fired on account of the empty royal coffers …
Based on the fairytale by the Brothers Grimm, Thomas Freyer tells the story of a cat, who helps his master to a better place in the world, and he tells it as a family play at its best, by centering it around characters whose hardships are equally familiar to children and adults. Lovable and dissatisfied, selfish, well-meaning, and naïve, they try to improve their lives just a bit. And without the cat, nobody would ever have succeeded.
