Thomas Freyer (born in 1981 in Gera, Thuringia) studied playwriting in Berlin. In 2006 his first play Amoklauf mein Kinderspiel was invited for a scenic reading at the prestigious Theatertreffen in Berlin. Freyer was awarded the Dramatiker-Preis des Kulturkreises der Deutschen Wirtschaft 2006 and the Förderpreis des Schiller-Gedächtnis-Preises 2007.
