Lennart and his parents were never really close, and the 30-year old has long since found a new and happier “family” in the big city: Together with his girlfriend Dalida and his buddy Ümit, he runs a café – where one day, and without prior warning, Lennart’s father Werner drops in. He had just been diagnosed with Parkinson’s when his wife, without losing a beat, kicked him out, ending decades of marital strife. Werner, frail but as gruff as he ever was, moves in with Lennart as if this were the most natural thing in the world. However, the only thing he and his son have in common is stubborn silence. Reluctantly Lennart takes Werner in but then his father's condition rapidly deteriorates. He rearranges his small apartment, fills out healthcare forms, and hires a caretaker from Poland – and patiently puts up with Werner’s disapproving comments. Both men are unable to cope with this unfamiliar situation, but they gradually discover that they may have more in common than they would like to admit.

Tim Staffel’s play tells story of two people getting closer by bridging a great distance - unsentimentally, perceptively, and laced with a laconic sense of humor.
