Work - the Germans' greatest pride and at the same time the darkest aspect of their history. Approximately 13 million people had to perform forced labor in the German Reich during the Second World War. Crammed together by the hundreds, half-starved and mistreated, they toiled for the German economy. But how can we still talk about it today? What business is it of today's youth, whose parents and grandparents may come from completely different parts of the world? Based on research materials, eyewitness accounts, and court records, Made in Grmny spans from state-mandated forced labor through the situation of immigrant «guest workers» during the economic miracle in the 1950s and 1960s to the current situation of migrant workers and the personal experiences of the players: Why is work more valuable than those who perform it? Who benefited back then, and how do privileges and exploitation continue to this day?

«What seems past becomes almost seamlessly a part of one's own present... The evening shows how remembrance can succeed even from almost 80 years away.» (Frankfurter Rundschau)
