"Isn't that what it is supposed to be all about? That afterwards one feels a little better... than before?", the girl says right at the beginning. The girl is dead, as are the other three characters on the stage, the man, the woman and the younger man. Even in the Hereafter the conversation continues, as well as the need to find out one's identity and what happened. A story is being reconstructed from fragments. The man and the woman were married. He worked a lot, wanted to buy her a dog, so she wouldn't be so alone. Then they were both killed in a car wreck. The girl had an affair with the man. But he never really cared about her. She slit her wrists. The younger man, an outsider, covered himself with gasoline at the immigration office and set himself on fire.
