Just a moment ago, Martin was very pleased with himself: generously, he handed over the joint inheritance to his sister Sabine, who lived in strained circumstances. After all, their recently deceased mother couldn't have possessed much – certainly nothing that Martin, a successful banker, and his wife Emilia could use.
