Theresia Walser (born in 1967 in Friedrichshafen) was an actress and had her debut as a dramatist in 1997. Her play King Kongs Daughters (1998) was a massive success and has had more than twenty productions. Theresia Walser was voted Best Upcoming Playwright in 1998 and Best Playwright in 1999 in the critics' poll of the magazine Theater heute. She has received numerous awards and grants, amongst them the Schiller Memorial Prize 1998 and the BHF Bank Foundation's Grant 2006.
