Born in 1984, Magdalena Schrefel grew up in Vienna and studied at the University of Vienna and the Institute for German Literature in Leipzig. In 2013, her play Danke, dass ich jetzt Ihren Hund halten darf was awarded Munich’s prize supporting new German-language drama at the Münchner Kammerspielen Festival. She was also nominated for the Heidelberg Stückepreis award in 2014 for her play Die Bergung der Landschaft.
